In my last article, we looked at how you might go about searching for your new home based internet business using the main search engines – Google and Yahoo. We found out that using this method can potentially create more disadvantages then advantages. Why? Well even by refining your search, for example, “home based typing”, the sheer volume of results runs into millions, which is not a practical volume to assess. Therefore, we need to find an alternate method to search for our new business and one which will provide the tools to home-in on the actual type and category of business you are looking for.

Homebased internet business,

I’m going to look at virtual “marketplaces” as the best alternative. There are a number of sites you can use; the main ones are Commission Junction, Linkshare, PayDotCom and Clickbank. The beauty of these sites, is that you can instantly access the type of business you are looking for.

To give you an idea of how these sites can help you, I’ll choose Clickbank (with whom I have no affiliation) by way of illustration. Once into the Clickbank site, you will notice on the left hand side of the screen, a Category List. Here you will find main headings covering a wide range of topics. If for example, you wanted to look at e-business and e-marketing opportunities, simply click on the category heading and a list of all the business opportunities will appear on the main screen. When you see a product that catches your eye, click on the relevant heading (coloured red) and you will be directed straight to that particular website.

Perhaps an even faster method, is to go straight to the “Find Products” box at the top of the page and type in your chosen keywords. Again using the “Home Based Typing” phrase, enter that into the find products box, hit enter and up will come all the searches available on Clickbank under your chosen keyword phrase.

Internet business opportunities,

The site is very user friendly but whilst not everything will interest you, using this method for your new business search (and ideas) can save you a tremendous amount of time and effort. Importantly, you can use the site (and any of the others mentioned above) with confidence. They all have very strict guidelines for their advertisers, so in the event you decide to invest in a particular product and later find it is not really what you wanted, a prompt and courteous refund policy is in place for your peace of mind.
